As I was praying for my food this afternoon it hit me with force that there are many who don’t have food. They don’t have the opportunity to go to the supermarket and choose what to eat and get a pre-packaged meal like I did. They did not have a nice supplementary salad. They could not also eat a wonderful dessert. There are 842 million people worldwide who don’t have enough food.

It made me very upset to think of the people who are merely skin and bones. And it is terrible how many of us, who are rich and have what we want, overlook them, because we don’t want to feel uncomfortable. How can I eat and enjoy my meal and do nothing while my brother/sister is starving?

Let’s not be apathetic, but do something, and not take food for granted. Let’s not take peace for granted. Let’s not take a roof over our heads for granted. Or a happy family, good friends, or any blessing we have, but share.
