God’s infinite generosity

“For God has consigned all to disobedience, that He may have mercy on all.

Oh the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways!” – Romans 11:32-33

Wow, this verse speaks to me. God has allowed all to be bound by sin so He may have mercy on all. God loves giving, and He wants to keep giving. He’s rich like that (v 33). He doesn’t want us to enter His presence by any merit of our own. He wants us to enter His presence by pure and utter grace. He gives us gifts we do not and will never deserve.

Because we were bound by sin, there is no way that we could ever earn our way into God’s good and holy presence. No amount of trying would ever get us there. We were enslaved. We could not do anything but obey the wrong desires in us. No matter how much we tried, we never could never be perfect. There was no way out, as all our personal efforts were useless.

This seems like a desperate state, but this is all part of a greater plan, as God wanted and wants us to come into His presence as a free gift. He sent Jesus for us to forgive us. No personal effort could or can save us. This was so He could put his great mercy and grace and love on display and keep on giving and giving and giving and giving in a never-ending infinite loop of love.
That’s my God! ❤
